Giro d'Italia Holiday Deals from Bikecation
Been stunned by the scenery from the Giro this year?
There are plenty of affordable holidays that will allow you to experience these amazing places and ride the same roads as the pros.
Adriatic Coast - Stage 12
Stage 12 went to the motor racing circuit at Imola, but on the way there, the riders took in a huge stretch of the Adriatic coast.
Most significantly, the race travelled through Rimini and Riccione. This is where road.cc's Italy Week heads, so we know it well.
There is a brilliant mix of riding, from the flat coastal roads that the pros took to the beautiful rolling hills around San Marino.
It's the perfect location for a family holiday as the coast provides plenty to do for anyone not wanting to cycle.
Lake Garda - Stage 17
Bikecation describes this area as the beating heart of Northern Italy.
We can see why. Lake Garda is located between Milan and Venice and is Italy's largest lake.
The riding around here depends on where you base yourself, with high mountains to the North and more rolling terrain to the South.
Stage 17 of the Giro used one of the climbs from the Northern tip of the lake, going straight up and starting an incredible day of racing.
Dolomites - Stage 15
The Dolomites are located in the very North-Eastern corner of Italy and form one of the most beautiful places to ride in the world.
The riding here is pretty brutal, yet the climbs are achievable for most riders and the reward at the top is a breathtaking view and a thrilling descent.
If you saw the Giro stage, you'll have seen quite a few snow-capped mountains, so the best time to go is in the summer months.
