dhb is back with part 2 of their Black Friday takeover.

While part 1 had some great clothing deals for autumn, we’re very happy to see some full waterproofs and plenty of thermal gear.

Believe it or not, winter is yet to properly start and for those of us here in the UK, the autumn has been pretty damp. If you live outside of the UK then picture what one of the wettest autumns on record might look like in a famously rainy place. Yep, we’ve been reaching for the waterproofs nearly every day.

dhb has a range of deals on both snuggly thermal base layers and protective outer garments. let’s take a look.

Using one of the best fabrics that we’ve ever seen on a cycling jacket, the Power Shield Pro from Polartec, this jacket works very well, keeping you dry and comfortable on winter rides.

This jacket could also be described as a jersey thanks to the close fit and amount of breathability.

The water-resistant outer fabric will see off a heavy shower and there’s space in the rear pockets for a fully waterproof shell for when the rain looks to be set in for the day.

The women’s version of this excellent jacket is also down to £91. Click here to see it.

Protecting your upper body is one thing, and this will be the thing that keeps you warm, but your poor legs are doing a lot of the work, so keeping these large muscles warm is very important.

Part of this is keeping the rain and road spray from soaking the lycra. A PU foam has replaced the usual water-resistant membrane, allowing for more flexibility. The tights are windproof and will see off a good amount of rain.

One of the best bits of any winter ride is layering up to face the cold and we love starting with a soft and snug merino base layer.

This mid-weight 200gsm merino wool allows moisture to move away from your skin, keeping you dry and comfortable.

This long-sleeve base layer can be worn with a thermal jersey, or under a heavier jacket for a lightweight layering system.

No one likes struggling with cold feet on a ride and while you can layer outside the shoe, adding too much bulk inside your shoes could cut blood flow, making the problem worse.

dhb’s Winter Weight Merino socks are perfect for maximising warmth from that first layer.

The socks extend up the leg to help keep you as warm as possible.

dhb Neoprene Nylon Overshoes - £15.40

Keeping your feet dry and the wind off is all part of keeping them warm. Those Merino socks above will really struggle if they get drenched.

With 3mm thick neoprene, these overshoes are waterproof, windproof and very warm.

If there’s a lot of standing water outside, we’d recommend wearing the cuffs of the overshoes under your bib tights. This should help to keep water from soaking your socks.

Another complaint that we often hear on winter rides, and we’ve suffered the same pain, are frozen hands.

A good pair of windproof gloves will do a lot to keep your hands comfortable and these Flashlight gloves add a lot of visibility that makes them great for commuters.
