The Drivo might be a few years old now, but it still boasts impressive stats and a realistic ride feel.
If you’re looking to pick up a bargain smart trainer then the Drivo is a good pick.
Back in 2017 road.cc reviewed the Drivo and they loved the performance, even at the full RRP of £1199.99.
When the evenings are dark and the temperatures struggle to rise, it’s fine to admit that the motivation to ride outside suffers. While we love wrapping up warm for a nice winter’s ride, the dark evenings aren’t that nice and we’ve been keeping our eyes out for a smart trainer bargain for later this year.
Indoor training is incredibly time effective and these days, the technology even makes it rather enjoyable. We really like doing structured interval sessions on Zwift. It’s dead easy to get started and following the session with the virtual on-road interval endpoints makes it mentally much easier to get the work done than simply sitting on the rollers.
For us, a direct drive trainer is key for a good set up. They’re generally very quiet which is rather important if you live in a small house or flat without access to a garage. Removing the rear wheel also means that you won’t be wearing away your tyre and you avoid the issue of power fade when the tyre warms up.
The Drivo can replicate slopes of 24% and has a max power resistance of 2,300W at 25mph and 3,700W at 40mph.

At Elite we love the effort and the joy of victory. We’re 50-strong, all well versed in cycling, so there’s no room for improvisation. Many of us have been working here for more than 20 years. We win awards at the biggest events. We work inside a historic refurbished furnace that took us 10 years to restore.
We manufacture locally, based on an idea that turned out to be fundamental to achieve success: our partners work exclusively for us, so we are primarily focused on marketing and research rather than production.
We're self-financed: all our investments come from resources that are the result of everyone's work. That eliminates a bit of weight on a difficult climb. And we keep on growing.
