31% off this Ridley X-Night Rival 1 Disc CX Bike

Ridley X-Night Rival 1 Disc
£1999.99
Commerce content is independent of editorial, and Farrelly Atkinson earns commission from promoted products

We might still be loving the sunshine of the British summer, but as we know all to well, it won't last for long.

Road.cc First Look: Ridley X-Night Disc

True CX conditions are thankfully quite a way off, but the CX season starts in late September so if you've seen the fast-paced, technical racing, then now is the time to get yourself a bike.

This Ridley X-Night is one of the best. Ridley have been making great CX bikes for years and this one gets the perfect CX groupset in the form of Sram's Rival 1 Disc.

Road.cc Buyer's Guide: 12 of the best CX bikes

The groupset does away with the front mech for better mud clearance, lower weight and reduced chain chatter.

The clutch rear mech is essential for this setup and the Rival is excellent in poor conditions.

Neon-Velo announce signing of Ian Field and partnership with Forme Bikes

Hydraulic disc brakes really make sense in CX as they give better modulation and more control in cold and muddy weather.

Huge 30% off Kask Protone Helmets

Kask Protone Helmet
£138.99
Commerce content is independent of editorial, and Farrelly Atkinson earns commission from promoted products

The Protone promises an aero advantage and great air flow.

Tested with Team Sky pros, this is a do-it-all helmet for anyone wanting a well-made, fast helmet.

We see a load of these helmets at races, the Protone offers riders a bit of an aero gain without the sweaty head of a full aero lid.

The helmet features large frontal vents that channel air over the head and out of large exhaust vents.

Road.cc Review: Kask Protone Helmet

The back section of the helmet has a closed off section to aid smooth air flow. Internally, the padding is made from a Coolmax material and it doesn't hold as much sweat as previous Kask helmets.

Road.cc Buyer's Guide: Performance Helmets

The chin strap is made from a leathery material that is really easy to clean for better hygiene.

One of the reasons for the Protone's popularity is the vast range of colour options available. This combined with the excellent fit is a winning combination.

Over 40% off KMC Chains

Noisy or sloppy shifting? Your chain could be the problem.

KMC chains are brilliant. They're lighter than Shimano's offerings and we've found that they last a little longer too.

KMC X11-EL Chain
£24.00
Commerce content is independent of editorial, and Farrelly Atkinson earns commission from promoted products

Being users of 11speed drivetrains, we've been using the X11-EL chain.

The EL weighs in at only 247g, only 4g heavier than a Dura Ace 9000 chain and over £10 cheaper.

There is also a lighter option in the X11-SL chain, but this is more expensive at £41.

KMC X11-SL Chain
£41.00

The SL does get a unique stretch-proof treatment that is supposed to increase the lifespan of the chain.

We have found that this feature works best for harsh conditions such as in CX racing.

Whopping 43% off Shimano Ultegra R8000 50/34 11/32 Groupset

Shimano Ultegra R8000 50/34 11/32 Groupset
£619.99
Commerce content is independent of editorial, and Farrelly Atkinson earns commission from promoted products

The latest Shimano Ultegra groupset is already heavily discounted.

This deal also lets you choose your preferred crank length.

It feels like an age since we were in Italy for road.cc Italy Week. While we were there we got to ride this groupset in the Italian hills.

The 50/34 11/32 gearing that came on our DeRosa Idol bikes was spot on for that type of riding and we never felt over geared.

Shimano's Ultegra 6800 available at insane 48% discount

The shifting is crisp and accurate, even under heavy load and the braking is really powerful.

The shifter ergonomics have been tweaked slightly from the 6800 edition and we found them to be really comfy on long days and slightly easier to reach from the drops.

Shimano launches new Ultegra R8000 groupset

This groupset allows you to pick the crank length and we'd recommend going shorter. We've made the jump to 170 from 172.5 and noticed a positive difference in our hip area with less tightness post ride.

Revan Replacement Lenses - Refresh you Oakley Sunnies

Our lenses got scratched in a crash, so we've been looking for the best replacement deal.

If you've found a pair of Oakley sunglasses that you like, replacing the lenses can freshen up your glasses and make them last for years.

The problem is, if you like an older style, lenses can be hard to come by. We've just been searching for Jawbreaker lenses and the selection isn't great.

These aftermarket options from Revant are a brilliant option.

The lenses are made in the US, and they feature brilliant optics with a clear view of the road.

The lenses are also coated to stop sweat from damaging the lens. What we really love is the price. At £60 for the Elite lenses, our Jawbreakers will be going strong for a few more years. That's loads cheaper than Oakley's lenses, and there are loads more colour options too.

Jawbreaker - From £32

Revant Jawbreaker Replacement Lens
£32.00
Commerce content is independent of editorial, and Farrelly Atkinson earns commission from promoted products

Our favourite design as it gives a great fit, easy lens swapping and a little adjustability in the arm length.

We've gone for the Elite Titanium MirrorShield lens.

Radar EV - From £32

Revant Radar EV Replacement Lens
£32.00
Commerce content is independent of editorial, and Farrelly Atkinson earns commission from promoted products

The Radar EV gives a little extra height over the standard Radar.

This might improve vision when in the drops, but it is most loved by us for hiding our caterpillar eyebrows!

Radar - From £23

Revant Radar Replacement Lens
£23.00
Commerce content is independent of editorial, and Farrelly Atkinson earns commission from promoted products

The frames that dominated the pro peloton as soon as they were released.

There are quite a few stories of pros buying blacked-out versions to wear when training, even though they were sponsored by other sunglasses brands.

Jawbone - From £18

Revant Jawbone Replacement Lens
£18.00

One of the most customisable designs that Oakley made.

Geraint Thomas still loves his. He must have a stash of them hidden away, as Oakley stopped making them a while ago!

Superlight Thompson Elite Inline Seatpost Now 50% off

Thompson Elite Inline Seatpost
£44.99
Commerce content is independent of editorial, and Farrelly Atkinson earns commission from promoted products

For any weight weenie, this Thompson post is ideal for saving the lbs and the pennies.

Here at Deal Clincher, we might spend a little too much time and money on carbon bits aimed at making our bikes lighter.

So what if there was a seatpost that boasted not only a weight of 188g, was super strong and also much cheaper than many carbon options? Well, we'd buy it.

That's just what this Thompson Elite offers. The seatpost is claimed to be 40% stronger than it's rivals and at only 188g, it's lighter than many of them too.

We own a couple of these posts. They feature on winter bikes, race bikes and even CX bikes. The constant remounts and generally awful conditions not phasing ours one bit.

The inline clamp puts you further forward over the bottom bracket which is brilliant for more aggressive positions.

At 50% off, this is a great way to save weight while most blowing the bank.

Shimano XT 1x11 Groupset now 45% off

Shimano XT 1x11 Groupset
£449.99
Commerce content is independent of editorial, and Farrelly Atkinson earns commission from promoted products

This full 1X groupset is down to only £449.99!

This Shimano XT M8000 groupset delivers slick shifting along with powerful braking with great modulation.

The groupset comes with the XT crankset with the option of 170mm or 175mm cranks paired with a 32T non-drop chainring.

The Hollowtech II bottom bracket is probably the least flashy element here, but it's our favourite, delivering quiet and reliable performance through all conditions.

Shimano has used their Shadow technology with this rear mech, putting it more in line with the cassette and also out of harm's way.

Paired with the trigger shifter that allows you to dump 3 gears with 1 click and this is an ideal setup.

The 11-42T cassette gives a perfect range of gears for trail riding.

Huge 60% off this Camelbak L.U.X.E. Hydration System

Camelbak L.U.X.E. Hydration System
£43.99
Commerce content is independent of editorial, and Farrelly Atkinson earns commission from promoted products

Down from a whopping £109.95, this Camelbak is ideal for long rides.

The 3-litre reservoir and extra accessory-carrying space make this ideal for over 3 hours.

This particular pack has been designed with a women's specific harness.

This means that it'll be much more comfortable than a standard pack for female riders, especially over the longer ride durations that it's designed for.

Deals for the Dirt: It's the Off-Road Roundup

Internally, there's space for a 3-litre hydration pack alongside room for a load of riding essentials.
