Merlin Cycles are a great retailer to check out if you're looking for an incredible bargain.

We're used to seeing big discounts on some big brands, especially when it comes to their selection of Ridley bikes.

They've also got their own bikes which are certainly worth a look due to their fantastic value. Let's get on with the deals!

40% off Ridley X-Ride 105 Disc Carbon Cyclocross Bike

Ridley X-Ride 105 Disc

Seeing as we're getting right into the cyclocross season, it would be wrong to start with anything other than an excellent cyclocross bike.

Here, you've got possibly the perfect bike for dipping your toe into cross while still having a capable road bike.

The cable discs aren't as powerful as hydraulics, but they're still more controllable than rim brakes in the mud. They also allow the use of standard shifters which many riders will be more familiar with.

The double 46/36 chainring setup makes this perfect for taking out on the road when you're not hitting the trails or racing.

22% off Merlin X3.0 Tiagra Gravel Winter Bike - 2018

Merlin X3.0 Tiagra Winter Bike
£899.00
Commerce content is independent of editorial, and Farrelly Atkinson earns commission from promoted products

If you've got a lovely bike that you use in the summer, riding it through a harsh winter can ruin it.

For wet weather and mucky roads, a dedicated winter bike like this X3.0 would be a great buy.

The bike comes set up with 36mm Clement X’Plor tyres which are great for also taking in some gravel roads. We'd probably switch out to some 28mm Continental GP 4 Seasons for heavier road use.

50% off Ridley Noah SL Ultegra Di2 Carbon Road Bike

Ridley Noah SL Ultegra Di2
£2899.00
Commerce content is independent of editorial, and Farrelly Atkinson earns commission from promoted products

This time in the season is also a great time to save big on a shiny new race bike for next year.

Ridley's Noah SL is a great option for fast riding and the Ultegra Di2 groupset has been excellent for us in races.

The bike is finished with a carbon fibre Forza saddle and Deda bars/stem.

58% off Shimano Dura-Ace 9070 Di2 11 Speed Groupset

Shimano Dura-Ace 9070 Di2 Groupset
£1249.00
Commerce content is independent of editorial, and Farrelly Atkinson earns commission from promoted products

If you're happy with your frame, but your shifting is letting you down, then an upgrade to Dura-Ace Di2 is something we'd strongly recommend.

You get everything that you need to simply plug it all together and get riding. The only thing not included is a seatpost bung, but we find that using bar tape to wrap the battery is a much easier solution.

Being Shimano's older Dura-Ace, the stock is limited and once it's gone, it won't be re-stocked. Best not hang around then!

10% off Fabric Saddles

Fabric Saddle Sale

Fabric's saddles are sleek, well made and designed to offer comfort over long rides.

We can't pick out one saddle that we love as the range extends from the £31 Scoop Sport right up to the £179.95 ALM Ultimate.

As is usually the case, as you spend more, the weight falls. But grams aren't everything, so make sure you go for the right one for you, over the lightest available!

Clothing

48% off Castelli Velocissimo 2 Cycling Jacket

Castelli Velocissimo 2 Jacket
£89.00
Commerce content is independent of editorial, and Farrelly Atkinson earns commission from promoted products

Warm, snug and comfortable in the depths of winter. Now, who doesn't want that?

Castelli's Velocissimo 2 Jacket is made with a windproof & water-resistant Gore Windstopper X-Fast fabric on front and a more breathable fleece fabric on the back.

That should not only keep you warm but also not too sweaty when the road heads up.

50% off Castelli Classic Winter WS Cycling Jacket

Castelli Classic Winter WS Jacket
£80.00
Commerce content is independent of editorial, and Farrelly Atkinson earns commission from promoted products

This heavyweight jacket is designed for those riders brave enough to head out on the coldest of rides.

It's perfect for wrapping up for winter miles as the softshell design still allows enough breathability to keep you dry.

The high collar adds maximum protection while 3 deep pockets will store a rain jacket and plenty of snacks.

45% off Castelli Mortirolo 4 Cycling Jacket

Castelli Mortirolo 4 Jacket
£97.00
Commerce content is independent of editorial, and Farrelly Atkinson earns commission from promoted products

If you know that you're going to be climbing hills or riding hard this winter then a jacket with plenty of ventilation is key.

It'll allow you to stay dry which is much comfier as that clammy feeling just isn't ideal.

The front zippered vents on this Mortirolo 4 Jacket allow the Gore Windstopper X-Fast fabric to vent even more.

We also think that it's perfect for a longer ride to work as no one want to arrive all sweaty.

10% off Assos Rain Bootie Overshoes

Assos Rain Bootie Overshoes
£72.00
Commerce content is independent of editorial, and Farrelly Atkinson earns commission from promoted products

Keeping the rain out of your shoes in the winter is challenging. There is usually a lot more standing water and the rain can last all day.

Assos' Rain Bootie is about the best we've ever seen. The main fabric is totally waterproof and they've also sealed the seams and zip to stop water seeping through.

To help these last for many years, the heel and toe areas have been heavily reinforced to stop scuffs that can turn into rips.

There is also an extra 10% off which is automatically applied at the basket!

50% off Castelli Pioggia 3 Shoecover

Castelli Pioggia 3 Overshoes
£27.50
Commerce content is independent of editorial, and Farrelly Atkinson earns commission from promoted products

Finally, Castelli's Pioggia 3 overshoes are a great option if you need a lightweight rain cover.

That said, we'd still use these in the depths of winter with an oversock as an extra insulation layer.

The silicone grip at the top of the cuff seals water out but we'd go one step further. If you wear these over a pair of socks, the put your bibtights over the top of these overshoes, you'll get zero water seeping down into your socks!
