The Mega Week Roundup : Bike Boxes, Trek Exclusive, Tech & More

dealclincher

It's only been a 4-day week, but we've still found loads of great deals.

Trek have stopped by for a brilliant mid-week takeover and there are some seriously big savings.

So while we await the return of the sunshine, let's crack on with some great kit.

Save a whopping 52% on this ProBikeKit Bike Box

ProBikeKit Bike Box
£219.99

A massive £245 price drop makes this a great deal.

With lockable latches and all the fittings need for precise packing, this is a great option for delicate bikes.

Packing up a bike box will highlight any flaws and ours have no dedicated places for different bits. This PBK case has all the clever spots for securely holding everything in place.

The wheels, in particular, are held in with quick release skewers which we think is the best way to hold them away from the frame.

We're also big fans of the anti-crush bar, having seen too many pictures of broken bikes and their emotionally broken owners.

This case travels on 4 wheels, the front 2 allowing you to turn the box. Trust us when we tell you that a box or bag without wheels is a nightmare for a cyclist's upper body.

Stock is due in at the end of May and ProBikeKit are offering this at a pre-order price of only £229.99! That's a whopping 52% off!

This Garmin Edge 820 is down by a brilliant 29% and comes with everything you need including a heart rate strap, speed and cadence sensors.

The turn by turn navigation is a really neat feature that we've been using way more than we thought.

Garmin Edge 820 Head Unit Only - £235

It allows you to explore roads that you might have missed out on without having to get lost. We're quite good at that.

The screen is quite responsive and the battery life is good enough for 2 long rides. If you forget to recharge, the battery save mode turns the screen off so you can record data all the way home.

Trek Takeover - Helmets and Shoes

Trek have got a great collection of shoes and helmets for us at a range of great prices.

We're sure you've heard of that little bike company Trek. They produce arguably the most advanced frames in the world with a massive range of other kit and components too.

Some of the shoes and helmets here today are currently being used in the Giro d'Italia where Trek-Segafredo are racing.

We've picked out the highlights, but be sure to check out the whole article here!

The 2017 edition of the shoe above has the same BOA dial and velcro closure system as the 2018 edition.

The difference between this and the newer version is found in the upper construction.

This version uses a mix of the perforated synthetic material and also Lightning mesh panels.

You can even get these in shiny white for the ultimate pro look. The best part, however, is that these are on sale at £55 off!

Bontrager Circuit Road Shoe 2017

£30.99

The 2017 edition of the Circuit is a completely different shoe aesthetically.

The synthetic upper has a much more busy design with the perforations being replaced by small mesh sections.

A BOA dial is still used, however, it is attached to a strap for pressure relief and paired with 2 velcro straps.

At this sale price, these shoes can be had at £30.99, making them seriously good value for money.

Trek's final deal is this 2017 Quantum Mips helmet.

It's a helmet for a wide range of riders, with a removable visor, loads of ventilation and a really attractive price.

The Headmaster fit system means that you'll get a comfortable fit over a range of heights and circumferences.

We really love the look of this helmet and we can see it being perfect for casual rides and commuting.

Anyone riding with a backpack will know the horrible sweaty feeling from an unvented back. Thankfully, this Osprey Escapist get brilliant ventilation whilst being secure.

Here at Deal Clincher HQ, we try to pack as light as possible. But we still need a laptop, plenty of lunch and normal people clothes for the office. A rather heavy pack is unavoidable.

Road.cc Buyer's Guide: Carrying Luggage on your Bike

Thankfully though, with wide shoulder straps, 23 or 25 litres of storage and excellent back ventilation, the Osprey Escapist should have us covered.

The bag is made from Ripstop Nylon with 4 compartments with lots of handy places for useful stuff. There's even a dedicated compartment for essential bike tools.

Road.cc Review: Osprey Escapist 32L

Large shoulder straps and both a chest strap and supportive waist strap help to spread the load.

The added ventilation in the back should see the end of that sweaty back on the commute to work.

Siobhan Kelly reviewed the 32L version for road.cc back in 2015. She found it to be a great pack, easily lugging heavy loads.

Half Price SIS GO Isotonic Energy Gel Selection Boxes

SIS GO Isotonic Energy Gel Selection Box
£14.00
Commerce content is independent of editorial, and Farrelly Atkinson earns commission from promoted products

The box includes 4 gels of 5 different flavours allowing you to keep your taste buds entertained.

These SIS gels sit at a really nice consistency, between a watery High5and a stodgy Torq.

That means that they're easy to get down during a hard effort. The taste is also quite pleasant for a gel.

The flavour isn't too bold and there's no stickiness meaning you won't need water if you're clinging to the wheel in front.

That said, we always like to wash down a gel with a little fluid.

This little beauty takes stunning slow-mo video.

The camera shoots 4K at 60fps and 1080p at an insane 240fps, creating amazing footage for you post-ride edits!

The GoPro name is rather well known, and for good reason. Their cameras have been capturing awesome footage for years.

This Hero 6 is packed full of brilliant features for cyclists, regardless of where you ride.

The voice command solves the issue of turning your camera on while riding. It's not fun trying to start recording when you're screaming down an alpine descent. A simple "GoPro, start recording" will handle that now.
