Evans Cycles Takeover
Wednesday, October 3, 2018 - 11:45
This week Evans have bikes, lights, cleaning kits and more!
Their takeovers are always packed with brilliant deals, but that's not the only reason that we love shopping at Evans Cycles. They have over 60 stores Nationwide that offer free click&collect. What's more, you can trade in your old bike and Evans will give you money off your new one. On top of that, Evans offer the ride to work scheme which could save you up to 42% off your new bike. That's why they're one of our favourite bike shops!
Cube Attain GTC Pro 2018 Road Bike
Commerce content is independent of editorial, and Farrelly Atkinson earns commission from promoted products
Cube's Attain GTC is a bike that is known for being perfect for soaking up the miles with ease.
The relaxed geometry makes the bike stable, comfortable but also fast. Pair that with the 11-speed 105 groupset and you've got a brilliant bike.
The Mavic Aksium hoops are light and spin up quickly, making this a good climber too.
BMC Roadmachine 02 Three 2018 Road Bike
BMC's Roadmachine is a bike that would be perfect for fast rides on the roads around us.
The disc brakes are not only better for poor weather, but they also allow the frame to be built with more compliance and room for wide 28mm tyres. The data suggests that this is faster and more aerodynamic.
The 11-speed 105 groupset gives you a great balance of performance and low cost.
Kask Protone Road Helmet
We see a load of these helmets at races, the Protone offers riders a bit of an aero gain without the sweaty head of a full aero lid.
The helmet features large frontal vents that channel air over the head and out of large exhaust vents.
The back section of the helmet has a closed off section to aid smooth air flow. Internally, the padding is made from a Coolmax material and it doesn't hold as much sweat as previous Kask helmets.
The chin strap is made from a leathery material that is really easy to clean for better hygiene.
Shimano 105 5800 Pedals
Thought carbon pedals were just for the pros? Think again. These 105 pedals are probably the best value for money pedals we've ever seen.
The bearings are smooth and reliable, the tension is adjustable and we've always loved the cleats.
There is only a slight weight penalty over Ultegra or Dura Ace and you're getting the same stable base that gives both efficiency and comfort.
Altura Sonic 25 Waterproof Single Pannier
Altura's Sonic 25 panniers are, as the name suggests, completely waterproof.
Combine that with the brilliant price and you've got a commuter essential. The pannier is easy to attach and remove, making it super easy to take anywhere.
The roll top closure is quick to operate in the rain and the 10kg weight limit is fine for our MacBook and work clothes.
Northwave Sonic 2 Plus Road Shoe
If you're looking for a shiny new pair of shoes after a summer of discomfort then we'd highly recommend Northwave.
Their shoes, like the Sonic 2 Plus, are designed for normal feet, so you get more room in the toe box, which is brilliant for long rides.
The single SLW2 dial is easy to use and provides an even spread of retention pressure. The carbon sole isn't harsh and gets five vents to help prevent hot spots.
Castelli Women's Perfetto Softshell Jacket
The Perfetto is, well, perfect for the weather that we're getting right now.
The lightweight material gives you enough protection against cool temperatures and it'll see off the odd shower too. The high levels of breathability make this an excellent jacket for layering.
The Women's specific cut gives you a better fit with slightly narrower shoulders allowing for better aerodynamics.
Castelli Superleggera Vest
A good gilet can be used all year against chilly early morning starts, high mountain descents and the biting winter wind.
The Superleggera is Castelli's lightweight gilet, designed to stop the wind from hitting your chest.
We find that makes it perfect for rolling up and popping in a pocket for when you need it most.
Cycleops Classic Virtual Turbo Trainer
This smart turbo trainer is brilliantly simple, allowing you to get into power training and virtual riding without any fuss.
The unit will control your power output, so you can do specific zonal training, maximising your time on the bike.
The alloy roller is pretty quiet and the whole thing folds away for easy storage.
Exposure Flash/Flare Light Set
Exposure are known for making high-quality lights that last really well.
This, their Flash/Flare set, is perfect as a set of commuter blinkers for lit and partially lit urban commuting.
The lights are simple to mount and remove. They also charge in just 2 hours, making it easy to do at work.

Muc-Off Ultimate Bike Cleaning Kit
As you probably know, we're big fans of keeping our bikes clean. It's the simplest way to save money on components.
This kit contains everything you need to not only get the bike clean, but get it looking factory fresh!
The highlight for us is that eveything you need is sored tidily in a handy carry case. This kit is also part of Evans' 3for2 on Muc-Off products.
The deals listed on this page are the best deals on the best cycling products we can find. If you purchase anything as a result of clicking on a deal, Farrelly Atkinson Ltd may earn some commission: on some we do, on some we don’t. Any money that we earn goes in to paying for road.cc and its sister sites off.road.cc and ebiketips.
