With the Grand Tours approaching, Bikecation think it's about time we all headed off to the Alps!

Before the Giro d'Italia kicks off next Friday in Jerusalem, the pro peloton is racing smaller races like the Tour of Romandie and the Tour of the Alps.

These races are basically a week of summit finishes, meaning we get to see the favourites battle it out before the Giro.

We also get to see some stunning alpine scenery and this week's Bikecation deals will take you right into a climber's paradise.

The Swiss Alps offer some of the most stunning natural beauty the world can offer.

The area around Interlaken offers a great mix of brutal climbs and easier lakeside rides. The town itself is bustling throughout the year and has beautiful architecture for days off the bike.

The town is surrounded by climbs with the Furka, Grimselpass and Sustenpass being within riding distance. Those big climbs are stunning, but it's the perfection of the smaller roads that we love.

The Swiss really know how to take care of their roads!

Italian Alps

If you're a true mountain goat, then you'll love Bormio. The climbing is all around with pretty much everything being a challenging cat 1 or HC climb.

This will make for some truly epic rides with incredible hairpins that are a saviour going up and a load of fun going down.

The area also features a whole host of gravel roads and trails, making it ideal for walking and XC MTB too.

We'll be sticking to the tarmac though, as the climbs of the Stelvio, the Gavia and the Mortirolo are all nearby.

French Alps

The French Alps forms the heart of the Tour and has seen many rivalries settled over the years.

It's a place that we absolutely love to ride our bikes and it's provided us with some of our toughest ever tests.

The roads here are numerous and pretty challenging, but many riders amaze themselves with their ability to complete the climbs, although we probably won't be challenging Pantani's times.

From Morzine, you are able to ride the Col de Joux Plane, Col de la Ramaz, Col de la Joux Verte, Col de la Colombiere, La Forclaz, Col de Corbier and Col de la Jambaz. If that isn't enough, then Alp d'Huez, Galibier, Glandon and Croix de Fer are within a day trip in a car.

The deals listed on this page are the best deals on the best cycling products we can find. If you purchase anything as a result of clicking on a deal, Farrelly Atkinson Ltd may earn some commission: on some we do, on some we don’t. Any money that we earn goes in to paying for road.cc and its sister sites off.road.cc and ebiketips.
